Mariscos Alex
About This Spot
Mariscos Alex welcomes you with the unhurried rhythm of a beloved neighborhood seafood spot tucked into the heart of Atotonilco el Alto. The moment you arrive on Av. Independencia Poniente, there’s a sense of familiar comfort—a place where the day’s catch and the local tide of conversations come together to create something quietly inviting. It’s not about rush or flash; instead, the pace invites you to settle in, listen to the hum of friendly chatter, and anticipate the flavors that are waiting.
The atmosphere carries the light buzz of families and friends sharing moments over fresh seafood, each dish a small ritual crafted with care. From the vibrant hues of the aguachile to the playful mix of textures in the ceviche, the menu feels like an invitation to discover depth in simplicity. Here, the food is a conversation starter—sometimes bright and zesty, sometimes rich and smoky—always rooted in the coastal traditions and everyday discoveries of Jalisco’s waters.
Part of the charm at Mariscos Alex is its gentle authenticity. The space itself is modest and welcoming, where you might find yourself sharing a table, adding a layer of community to the experience. Even on busier days, the attentive service and the steady flow of cold cervezas and refreshing drinks help frame the meal as a small escape, where patience is part of the reward.
Whether you’re drawn by the promise of a perfectly balanced shrimp cocktail or the intriguing notes of a “diabla” fish filet, dining here feels like joining a local story — one told in tastes that linger and human moments that quietly resonate.

Went in looking for a seafood place, found this place on Google maps with a high score. Figured I'd stop in and give it a shot. Parking can be kind of tricky because of it's location, but the food itself was good. The tuna platter appetizer was the star of the meal, followed closely by the cocktails themselves. The mango with the tuna is something I hadn't tried before, but it went together much better than I thought. Overall great experience and great food.
